Short Bio

Nils Corte is a German author, director, and Creative Technologist.From the 2021/22 season, he worked as a Digital Arts Consultant at Theater Dortmund, where he realized various cross-disciplinary projects with a digital focus. Since the 2023/24 season, he has been Artistic Director of the Extended Reality Theater (XRT) at Staatstheater Nürnberg, where he curates the program, engages artistically with the societal impact of big data and algorithms, and explores the potential of digital technologies for use in performative contexts.

He is an alumnus of the Academy for Theatre and Digitality and was invited, with the production "Das House" by the theater collective minus.eins, to the Showcase of the Berlin Theatertreffen (2021). In 2022 he was nominated for the German Faust Prize for the production "Pan's Lab," and again in 2026 for "Ich hasse Menschen." He has conceived and developed numerous apps for theatrical contexts and, together with Marcus Lobbes, was responsible for the artistic and technical concept of the 150th anniversary Ring at the Bayreuth Festival.

He is a member of the German Academy of Performing Arts.His recent works include Mord auf dem Holodeck (2019), Symmetrie (2023), Ich hasse Menschen (2025), Smart aber herzlich (2025), and Parasocial Activity (2026).
