showcases a unique artistic-technological research project, with topics as diverse as the use of AI in theatrical design, choreography for and with robotics, and the possibilities for theatre in virtual spaces. Each 

 offers the chance to learn more about the members of our artistic research network. By pooling our knowledge in such a way, creative research into theatre, performance and digital technologies can become more accessible, sustainable, and artistically innovative.

Funded by the Federal Cultural Foundation, the Academy will award a total of 54 fellowships between 2019 and 2022, each lasting for five months. The 

 are designed for people interested in artistic-technical research which explores the possibilities for digital narratives in theatrical spaces, as well as their practical implementation. Fellows have researched a variety of digital methods (motion capture, coding, XR, VR, AR, sensor technologies, robotics, and more) across artistic fields including opera, dance, orchestra and drama.

Wie wird Entfremdung bzw. Nähe über digitale Technologien erzeugt und was für ein Potential liegt in ihrer Übertragung in den Theaterraum? Bietet gerade der Theaterraum - die Ko-Präsenz von menschlichen und nicht-menschlichen Akteuer*innen - die Möglichkeit, die Produktion von Affekten vor dem Hintergrund der Digitalisierung zu reflektieren, die Authentizität von Gefühlen zu befragen und neue Emotionen zu erproben? Wie entsteht Intimität in den Räumen des Theaters? Wie kann Nähe und Distanz in immersiven Räumen verhandelt werden? Gibt es in diesen geteilten Räumen die Möglichkeit der Distanznahme? Wie können diese Möglichkeiten aussehen?

Im Mittelpunkt steht die Erarbeitung einer performativen Versuchsanordnung oder Performance, die um die Produktion von Nähe und Intimität kreisen und im Rahmen der Akademie in Form von Try-Outs und Showings entwickelt und gezeigt werden soll. In dieser Performance wird erforscht, welche Formen von Nähe sich über verschiedene Medien erzeugen. Wie bildet sich Intimität über die Stimme, über das Mikrofon und Kopfhörer, über den Screen, durch Text und über die Ausstattung des Raumes?

Mixed feelings in immersive post-digital spaces, Hybriden Identitäten, politischen Haltungen, ebenso wie Emotionen, Beziehungen und Momente von Intimität konstituieren sich heute zwischen Facebook-Chats, Instagram-Likes, Dating-Apps, in Onlineforen und Gaming-Communities, in dem Konsum von Videos on demand und den Algorithmen unserer Filterblasen. In meiner Recherche an der Akademie für Theater und Digitalität beschäftigt mich die Frage, wie sich Affekte, Gefühle, Begehren in einer postdigitalen, zunehmend ästhetisierten Gesellschaft bilden und verändern. Im Rahmen der Akademie möchte ich herausarbeiten, wie sich Nähe und Intimität in virtuellen und immersiv theatralen Settings herstellt, wie sich die theatrale Immersion von der digitalen unterscheidet bzw. gleicht und was das Potential ihrer Verschränkung ist.
